Gaming

Its been a very very long time since Ive played a game of 40K and gotten anything out of it aside from dread. At least two years; reason why I say this is the last game I played where I had an obscenely large amount of fun was when we play a 650 point game. No 10 minutes of shuffling models around, no hour long set up and take down process. Every lost model hurt, and it made the game enjoyable!

I was invited to play in a 40K tourney I declined as.

A> I cant afford the 10 dollar entry fee
B> I no longer have enough points worth of models to play in the 2250 game
C> The guy running it is...sombody I would rather never want to play in any game with.
D> I have a very hard time justifying playing 40K now when I get so much more out of Battletech.

Been trying to drum up support for Killteam, or Necromunda, but so far everybody just laughs and says that those games are not fun to play...why? Because you dont have $1000+ dollars worth of models on the table?
*rant rant rant*

I don't play games much partly for many of the reasons you cited. I think part of the argument that 40k doesn't allow for tactics or strategy is that we are encouraged to put way too many points on a too-small table. With so many models set down there isn't much room to do anything but move straight ahead or shoot at something. There is no reason that a smaller game can't be fun.

exactly, damn shame too, but hey if they want to be a royal dick hole about that and snub tactics for shoot and move, then why not?

If you want to get in a killteam game, I got some figs that I can use and we can do some killteam. I just need to know the rules for killteam so I can cum up with the right arrangement of figures and gear.
